Personality

People born in the horse year usually are cheerful, quick-witted and popular. With a happy outlook, independent, subjective and self-centered. They are wise, talented, good with their hands, and good at handling wealth. They are impatient and hot blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds, but are very independent and rarely listen to advice.

The free spirited Horse is the Chinese Zodiac's nomads. Horses need their independence and freedom. They are packed with energy and constantly moving from one place or project to another. All of this Sign's incessant activity and searching may be to satisfy a deep-rooted desire to fit in. Horses have a passion for travel.

Horses desire love and intimacy, which is a double-edged sword since it often leads them to feel trapped. The rawness of their sex appeal is like a magnet and makes it easy for Horses to find love. Horses are skilled at the art of seduction. However, their relationships are unpredictable because their behavior is so erratic and they may flee without notice. The unpredictable horse will fall in love easily and fall out of love just as easily. Consequently, the horses may have many affairs that end unhappily or even several marriages and divorces.

Horses possesse a sharp wit and a powerful presence, they love to show off to a crowd. The horses tend to come on very strong in the beginning of the relationship. Surprisingly, Horses tend to feel a bit inferior to those around them, a misconception that causes them to drift from group to group out of an irrational fear of being exposed as a fraud.

Horses' changeable nature may lead them to be rash, impulsive and headstrong at times. They more than a little insensitive to the feelings of others. They have an explosive temper, though they quickly forget their outburts. Often this nature will cause them to lose respect and credibility. They tend to rush people and are unhappy when others do not perform as quickly or efficiently as they do. They can be childish and petty in satisfying their whims and caprices. Often they are forgetful, absentminded and given to jumping to conclusions.

Horses tend not to look much at the big picture; instead they just follow their whims, which explains why their paths are often littered with unfinished relationships, jobs and ventures. Conversely, Horses motivate others easily and often do reach their goals. The lone wolf inside the Horse can at times push others away, but this also makes this Sign stronger and is a key to its success. Horses are willing to do the work necessary to get ahead.

In most cases the Horses will leave home early. If not, their independent spirit will goad them to start working or to take up some career at an early age. They are noted for their keen mind and ability to manage money. They respond quickly and can make snap decisions. Their mind work at remarkable speed and whatever they may lack in stability and perseverance, they will certainly make up for by being open-minded and flexible. Basically, they are nonconformist.

They keep odd hours. The Horses are unable to stick to schedules not of their own making and have a lack of respect for standard procedures. When an idea strikes them, they will work around the clock without eating or sleeping. They need a stimulating job to display their competence.

They think up great promotional ideas, devise dynamic new approaches, solve tricky problems. So, if you have a Horse working for you, give him or her variety and plenty of rope, send him or her on missions impossible. The Horses' many valuable assets will come to the fore when they are given a free hand but for goodness sakes keep them busy. Their performance will suffer when a job is undemanding.

They have raw sex appeal rather than straight good looks. Earthy and warmly appealing, they are very perceptive and talkative. The Horse are a showy dresser, partial to bright colors and striking designs to the point of being gaudy on occasion. The horses love exercise both physical and mental. You can spot them by their rapid but graceful body movements, their animated reflexes and fast way of speaking. When you are talking to a Horse, emulate him or her. Come to the point quickly, otherwise you will lose whatever fragile hold you may have on his or her attention. They are quite able to revise their plans when they meet with opposition or to figure out a different way. Stringing them along will just bring out the worst in them. They will not take offence at frankness and will appreciate your being blunt if it means that you don't want to waste their time.

Their selfishness rarely extend into the monetary or material side of things. It would be more accurate to say that they are selfish with their time, their affections, their concern for others, their willingness to modify their ways in order to suit the group. They don't setout to be deliberately inconsiderate or contrary. They just cannot wait for other mortals to catch up to them, to match either their mental speed or hectic physical activity.

The Horses can be a fickle soul. If they cannot be with the one they love, then they love the one they are with. Long, drawn-out entanglements do not appeal to them. They won't get caught in a one sided contract unless it happens to be on their side. They have a multitude of friends and makes more and more each day. But they learn never to rely too heavily on any of them.

The Horses will want things done their way. Self-centered by nature, they like their home and environment to revolve about them. With their remarkable powers of persuasion, they will set out to sway people to their way of thinking. They are not possessive, suspicious, or jealous. The Horses only become aggressive when they fail to get their way after trying every angle.

It would be unfair to ask the Horses to restrain themselves unduly, to bottle up their feelings. They have to express themselves.. If they are forced to hold back their emotions, they may openly revolt or break out in a rash if they are the silent type. Suspense and strait-jacket procedures will kill them.
